In pairs - work out the fixed and variable costs in the business below.

Task (15 mins)


Use a Google spreadsheet to setup and format a spreadsheet using the following parameters

  1. Do not type ANYTHING in row 1 or column A
  2. Add a column of LABELS for fixed costs
  3. Use the next column for the DATA for the fixed costs
  4. Leave a blank column
  5. Add a column of LABELS for the variable costs
  6. Use the next column for the DATA for the variable costs
  7. Leave an empty column for the totals of the variable costs

Format your spreadsheet by
  1. Merging cells for your TITLES
  2. Adding borders for each section
  3. Adding a colour to your LABEL cells


Task (25 mins)

Extend your spreadsheet to show where all of the FORMULAS will go
Continue the formatting pattern for your TITLES/LABELS & DATA
Use a grey background for cells which contain FORMULAS
